James Murray, 93, of Elmhurst and formerly of Brookfield, died Jan. 31, 2012 at the Lexington of Elmhurst.
Born in Chicago on Feb. 9, 1918 to Benjamin and Dorothea Murray, Mr. Murray served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a high school teacher after the war.
Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor Murray (nee Cerny); and his brother, Ralph Murray.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen (Donald) Dalicandro; his grandchildren, Douglas (Stacey) Bowman) Dalicandro, Christine Jensen and James (Janet) Dalicandro; his great-grandchildren, David Dalicandro, Megan Dalicandro, Katelyn Dalicandro, Amanda Jensen, Samantha Jensen and Casey Dalicandro; and his dear friend, Merle.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at noon on Friday, Feb. 10, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield.
