The Lions lost 58-47 to visiting Hinsdale Central on Friday in both teams’ conference division finale. The Red Devils made 5-of-8 three-pointers in the first quarter to take a 19-14 advantage and never relinquished their lead the rest of the way.
Kenny Smith led LT (10-14, 6-6 West Suburban Silver) with 15 points while Chris O’Reilly scored 12 points and Matt Robare had 10 points and six rebounds. Tom Garvin shared game-high scoring honors with 15 points for the Red Devils (16-8, 8-4).
After playing a crossover conference game this week, the No. 13-seed (in Schaumburg Sectional) Lions opens the playoffs at home against West Chicago (7:30 p.m.) on Monday, Feb. 27.
