Meryl J. Berg, 82, former RB Band Parents president

Meryl J. Berg (nee Bloomstrand), 82, of Brookfield, died Feb. 21, 2012 at her home.

Born in Chicago on Oct. 21, 1929 to Algert and Mildred Bloomstrand, she later married Kenneth A. Berg, who preceded his wife in death.

Ms. Berg worked as a travel agent and was a member and former president of the RB Band Parents and a former troop leader of Girl Scouts at Brook Park School in LaGrange Park.

She is survived by her children, Merilyn J. (Ray) Crittenden, Kurt A. Berg of Riverside, Allison H. (Bruce) Ketchum and Scott Berg, and her grandchildren, Aimee Ketchum and Christopher Ketchum. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Bloomstrand.

A funeral service was held Feb. 25 at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, which handled arrangements. Interment was at Beverly Cemetery in Blue Island.
