Bernita Burns Raus, 100, of North Riverside and formerly of Park Ridge and Beloit, Wis, died Feb. 28, 2012 at the Scottish Home, where she lived for the past 13 years.
Born March 7, 1911 in Beloit, Ms. Raus attended St. Mary’s in South Bend, Ind., and graduated from the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of the Tri Delta Society, the Northwest Pan Hellenic Society and was an active parishioner for many years at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth Raus; the mother of Marti (Brad) Perrigo and Molly (Rich) DiBernardo; the grandmother of Tim (Keri) Perrigo, Chris (Angella) Perrigo, Julie (Dan) Bunnell and Jessica (Craig) Root; the great-grandmother of Katie, John, Natalie and Noah Perrigo and Gavin and Hudson Bunnell; the sister of the late Frances Burns; and the dear friend to many at the Scottish Home in North Riverside.
A memorial service was held March 3 at the Scottish Home. Interment was at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Beloit.
