Stanley J. Sterba, 87, of Westmont, and formerly of Westchester, North Riverside and Chicago, died April 3, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Mr. Sterba was born Jan. 21, 1925 to Emil and Marie Sterba. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he worked as a barber in Chicago and in Stickney.
He was the husband of Mildred Sterba, of Westmont; the father of the late Darlene Leato; the grandfather of Taryn Burlison and Rory Burlison; the great-grandfather of Tristen Burlison; and the brother of the late Marie Zalke.
A funeral service was held April 7 at Hitzeman Funeral Home in Brookfield. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
