Less than four months after buying it, the owners of the former home of First Presbyterian Church of Brookfield have put the property back on the market.

On April 9, Michael and Loretta Glazik listed the property at 3545 McCormick Ave. on the Northern Illinois Multiple Listing Service. The listing agent, Noreen Torres of Failla Realty, is the same one who brokered the sale of the property to the Glaziks back in October 2011.

Since buying the property, the Glaziks have demolished the church building and leveled the site. The property is being marketed as two identical 60-by-152-foot parcels, both fronting McCormick Avenue and zoned for single-family residential construction.

The prices for the two parcels differ slightly. The south corner lot is listed at $159,000 while the north lot is listed at $149,000.

The Glaziks, who have now invested money into the property by demolishing the building, purchased the entire site on Oct. 31, 2011 for $135,000, according to records obtained from the Cook County Recorder of Deeds.

Earlier this year, Michael Glazik told the Landmark he planned on demolishing the church and dividing the property into two separate lots, but he was unsure whether he would develop the corner site himself or sell it to someone else.

Construction on First Presbyterian Church, which formerly occupied the site, began in 1956. The church – the only one ever built in the Hollywood section of Brookfield – was dedicated in 1957. It was abandoned in 2009 after a flood the previous fall did major damage to the basement.

At the time the church’s congregation had just a dozen active members. It has since merged with a North Riverside congregation, Christ Presbyterian Church.
