Evelyn Barski (nee Rybicki), 82, of North Riverside and formerly of the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago, died April 19, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
She was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Chicago to Barney and Jennie (nee Grzybowski) Rybicki. She worked as an accounts manager for a briefcase manufacturing company.
Ms. Barski was the mother of Karen Batenic, Alan Barski and Gail (Thomas) Galuppo; the grandmother of Kristin (Justin) Smith, Lauren Batenic, Daniel Batenic, Hailey Galuppo and Tomas Galuppo; the sister of Eleanor (the late Chuck) Hamill; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 26 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 27 at Mater Christi Church, 2431 10th Ave. in North Riverside, followed by entombment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
