Hijinio F. “Fred” Villarreal, 82, of Brookfield and formerly of Chicago, Riverside and Carson City, Nev., died April 27, 2012.

Mr. Villarreal was born Aug. 23, 1929. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of Teamsters Union Local 705, a member of the Graybeards organization and a member of the Lyons Lions Club.

He was the husband of Maria S. Villarreal (nee Felix); the father of Christine (Jeffrey) Behnke, Adriana (Joseph) Prasch, Sandra (Scot) Lindmark, Lora (Randal) Noel, Genoro Felix and Patricia Gonzalez; the grandfather of Maria Bork, Amanda Purtell, Mark Smith, Nicholas Lindmark, William Prasch, Jason Noel, Allison Prasch, Cassandra Lindmark, Emily Noel, Lianna Noel, Jaydin Noel, Aaliyah Noel and Carolyn Arrezola; the great-grandfather of Aiden Purtell, Robert Bork and Daniel Arrezola; and the brother of Berta Ramirez, Richard Villarreal, Edward Villarreal, Velia Kosab, Anna Marie Arguijo and Lucy Barbour.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 11 from 10 a.m. until the time of a noon funeral service at Kopicki’s Tower Funeral Home, 4007 Joliet Ave., Lyons.
