The students, staff, and parents of Blythe Park Elementary School would like to thank the Riverside Police Department for their help in implementing our recent bike rodeo.
Officer Brian Greenenwald and Officer Leo Kotor led the students through a bike safety discussion emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and following the rules of the road.
It is really important for the kids to see and understand how police officers help within a community. Thank you to Chief Weitzel and the Riverside Police Department for continuing to teach the youngest members of our community. It was very much appreciated.
Thank you also to Dan Schwanderlik, owner of Dan’s Bike Shop in Berwyn, for participating in the bike rodeo. Dan helped assess helmet fitting and discussed bike maintenance with the students. We appreciated his expertise.
