Kerry T. Vuolo, 58, a police officer with the North Riverside Police Department for 32 years, died on May 7, 2012 at Hinsdale Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Vuolo grew up in Berwyn attended Morton West High School in Berwyn and then joined the North Riverside Police Department, rising to the rank of lieutenant prior to his retirement in 2009. He was a resident of Palos Park.
He was a proud member of the North Riverside Police Benevolent and Protective Association Unit #73, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #110 and the Illinois Police Association.
Mr. Vuolo was the husband of Patricia Vuolo (nee Casassa); the father of LaGrange Park Police Officer Scott (fiance Eileen Seller) Vuolo and Sarah (Travis LeMoine) Vuolo; the son of the late Armando and Vera (nee O’Brien) Vuolo; the brother of Margaret and Brian Vuolo; the uncle of Joelle (Rawley) Livermore Lantz, Lewis Livermore, Timothy Fitzgerald, Rebecca Fitzgerald, the late Gina (Anthony) Chiappetta, Lori Ann (fianc Gene Formasino) Chiappetta and Phil (Lindsey) Chiappetta; great uncle and friend of many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 11 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside. Interment was private.
