The Bulldogs picked up two wins in three tries last week, highlighted by a 14-0 rout of Timothy Christian.
Senior third baseman Kiley Rusen finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. With 199 career hits, Rusen is poised to become the first RB softball player to surpass 200 hits.
RB (18-7, 6-3 Metro Suburban Conference) also picked up a 2-0 victory against Timothy Christian at Kiwanis Park as senior pitcher Kylie O’Connell rolled to her 13th win this spring via a complete-game, two-hitter. The Bulldogs plated their two runs as Kelly Ely led off the second inning with a double, followed by singles from O’Connell, Rusen and Jasmin Castaneda.
The Bulldogs’ lone loss was a 4-1 decision against Richards.
