Too bad the offices of the pope and bishops of the Catholic Church can’t be filled by a democratic, open election involving all members of the Church.
Most of the verbally abused and demeaned nuns and healthcare workers and volunteers who spend a great part of their lives helping the poor, sick, starving and all others would have a great chance of winning and bringing the true purpose of Jesus Christ’s Church to the forefront.
The real bishops would easily be retained, while the current hypocritical hierarchy, perpetuating the mansion living and wealth theory of the Church, would have their chauvinistic treatment of nuns and all women destroyed forever.
Women could share equally in the leadership of the Church – as Jesus and Mary originally wished. What a clear, clean, refreshing thought.
