Richard Herman Schmidt, 68, of Westmont and formerly of Brookfield, died July 14, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Schmidt was born on Sept. 26, 1943 in Berwyn to Herman and Verna Schmidt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a consultant for a computer software maintenance company.
He was the husband of the late Georgette Schmidt (nee France), and the father of Keary Schmidt and Daniel Schmidt.
A funeral service was held July 18 at New Apostolic Church in Brookfield. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
