William A. Collins, 73, a lifelong resident of Brookfield, died Aug. 31, 2012.

Mr. Collins worked for many years at Loyola University Medical Center prior to retirement, and he also ran his own business, WAC Landscaping, which served Brookfield, LaGrange and Western Springs for many years.

He could often be seen riding his bicycle through the village or over at the All American Car Wash. His friends will miss his words of wisdom and stories about Brookfield.

Mr. Collins was the husband of Diane R. Collins (nee Kuehn); father of William Scott Collins, Theodore P. (Heather) Collins and the late Joseph R. (Marie Angelini) Collins; step-father of Marsha L. (the late Al Murguia) Stegall and Sheila M. (Scott) Mitchell; grandfather of Anthony (Stephanie) Murguia, Anthony “Tony” Collins, Alexander “Alex” Murguia, Cecilia “CC” Mitchell, Joshua “Josh” Collins, Anthony “Rock” DePasquale, Jessica Collins, Samantha “Sami” Mitchell, Nicolette “Nikki” Murguia, Michael Murguia, Alexis Angelini, Elise Mitchell and Rain Collins; and the great grandfather of Mattea Murguia.
