Violette M. Speer (nee Stransky), 94, of Berwyn, died Sept. 23, 2012 at the Lexington of LaGrange.
Ms. Speer was born in Chicago on Nov. 6, 1916 to Frank and Marie Stransky. She married Carl J. Speer, who preceded his wife in death. She was the longtime secretary if the German Shepherd Dog Training Club in Hanover Park and a member of the Dudes and Dolls Square Dancers.
She is survived by her nephew Frank Stransky, of Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Speer was also preceded in death by her brothers, Otto and Frank Stransky.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. until the time of a 10 a.m. service at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
