On Tuesday, Oct. 16, Riverside Elementary School District 96 will show off its three renovated and updated schools to the general public. Residents will have the opportunity to go on guided or self-guided tours of Ames, Central, and Hauser Junior High schools. School board members, principals, the district architect will be on hand to answer questions about the work done at the three schools during the summer.
“The board of education welcomes the opportunity for community members to tour Ames, Central, and Hauser following the recent summer renovations,” said D96 Board of Education President Mary Ellen Meindl in a press release. “The capital improvement projects represent a collaborative effort of community stakeholders, administration, staff and school board to provide an improved teaching and learning environment for our children and teachers now and into the future.”
Tours at Ames will be held from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m., tours at Central from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Hauser tours from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The school board will hold its regular monthly meeting at Hauser beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Next summer, capital improvements will be done at Blythe Park Elementary School and Hollywood School.
