LT boys golf
Coming off their 2011 state runner-up result, the Lions shot 309 to finish third in the state on Saturday, trailing only champion Hinsdale Central (306) and Naperville North (308). Charlie Netzel carded a 76 to share 14th place with five other golfers, while Jon Hudson (77), Dan Hudson (78) and Jack Ferguson all placed among the top 25 spots.
RB football
The Bulldogs lost to area rival Nazareth 47-7 in a nonconference game on Saturday afternoon. Jack VandeMerkt (11-for-25, 97 yards) and wide receiver Mitch Malloy (6 catches, 61 yards) accounted for the Bulldogs’ lone touchdown on a 20-yard pass play. Adolfo Linares rushed for over 50 yards and Brad Bednar led the team in tackles.
RB (2-6, 2-1 Metro Suburban) closes out its season on Friday night (7:30) at Fenton.
LT girls golf
The Lions shot 407 to garner fifth place in the Class AA State finals. Sarah Donahoe (80) and Ciara Rattana (84) posted top scores while Melissa Marston and Rachael Johnson both carded 90s.
RB boys golf
Junior Austin Adamec carded a 93 at the Nazareth Sectional for the Bulldogs. This season, RB also recorded a fourth-place finish at the Nazareth invite along with a pair of sixth-place showings in the Metro Suburban Conference Tournament and Montini Regional.
RB girls golf
The Bulldogs closed their season with a fifth-place finish in regional competition. Gina Minella, who missed making the sectional by two strokes, carded a 111 while teammates Alcia Hengier (121), Michelle Morris (131), Marisa Jensen (141) and Julia Roedel (149) also contributed.
LT boys soccer
The Lions picked up a pair of wins, 1-0 over Oak Park and 4-0 against Argo to finish the regular season 17-3-1. Frankie Kocimski scored the game-winner in overtime against Oak Park, while Cole Gilchrist netted a hat trick and Piers Clarke added a goal vs. Argo. Goalkeepers Peter Nolan and David Fiflis posted a shutout apiece.
RB girls volleyball
RB won two of five matches at the Maine West Pumpkin Tournament. The Bulldogs (19-9) notched victories over Wheeling 25-14, 25-10 and Resurrection 26-24, 25-15. Against Wheeling, Hannah Claywell (6 kills, 5 digs), Lizzy Hawk (4 kills, 5 aces) and Annabelle Gardiner (5 aces, 9 digs) led RB. Hawk dished out 22 assists while Emma Schander and Amanda Lelivelt had seven and four kills, respectively, against Resurrection.
LT swimming
The Lions won the Stagg invite by outscoring the host Chargers 359-232 en route to the title. LT also claimed a dual meet win over Glenbard West to remain unbeaten in the West Suburban Silver.
RB girls cross country
RB took third at the Metro Suburban Conference Meet on Saturday. Clare Bollnow paced the Bulldogs with a personal-best time of 19:04 to finish sixth, while Sarah Melone came in ninth also recording a personal-best time (19:25).
