The Honorable Thomas Joseph Janczy, 91, of North Riverside, died Oct. 19, 2012.
Mr. Janczy was born in Chicago on Feb. 2, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was Cook County Circuit Court judge prior to retirement. He also enjoyed fishing, doing home repairs, politics and sports.
He was the husband of Theresa M. Janczy (nee Duda); the father of Ann (Jim) Julsrud, Terri Janczy, Chuck Janczy and Joe (Amy) Janczy; the grandfather of Katie, Betsy (Derek), Anna, Tommy, Jerry and Laney; the brother of the late William, the late John, the late Charles, the late Walter and the late Lottie; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Oct. 23 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
