I read with interest the opinion pieces of Jim Marciniak (Nov. 21) and Matt Sinde (Nov. 27), both of whom have served as president of the Riverside-Brookfield High School board. These letters highlight the type of tension that can arise when fiscal responsibility and the quality of education are at issue.

I believe that Ed Jepson’s professional background as one of Illinois’ top labor and employment attorneys would greatly benefit the RBHS school board going forward. Ed is knowledgeable, analytical and an excellent communicator. Knowing Ed, I am confident that he will carefully consider the business of the school board, open necessary dialogues and help the board reach decisions that are in the best interests of the RBHS community.
