Mary Jezik (nee Zacek), 87, a longtime resident of Brookfield, died Jan. 2, 2013 at her home.
Ms. Jezik worked for 15 years as a secretary and stenographer for the Ryerson Steel Company in Chicago, retiring in 1990. She was also a member of the Czechoslovakian Society of America, and she enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening. She lived in Brookfield from 1954 until her death.
She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Raymond) Urbanski, Vera (the late Pierce) McCabe and Emily (George) Vondriska; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her son, Stefan (Meta) Jezik; and her brother, Joseph (June Shapiro) Zacek.
Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave. in Brookfield, on Friday, Jan. 25 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 8:30 a.m. until a 9:30 a.m. prayer service.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park. Interment is private.
