Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and LaGrange Area League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum on March 13 for those running for village president and trustee in Brookfield.

The forum, which will be moderated by a member of the League of Women Voters, will be held in the council chamber of Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave., from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

According to Mike McNeily of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce, all of the candidates have been invited to appear at the forum.

The first 20 minutes of the forum will feature candidates running for village president, and each candidate will have the opportunity to answer each question that is asked. Three candidates — Bill Russ, Michael Towner and Kit Ketchmark — are running for president. Following the presidential forum, trustee candidates will have an opportunity to answer questions from the moderator. Three candidates chosen at random will answer each of the questions posed.

There are six candidates running for trustee, including Daniel Gribben, Mitch Mierop, Yvonne Prause, Brian Oberhauser, Michael Garvey and Nicole Gilhooley.

Anyone interested in submitting a question to be posed to candidates can email it to the League of Women Voters at Please note “Brookfield” in the subject headline.

Written questions will also be accepted from audience members at the forum. Election Day is April 9.
