Lyons Township High School was recently awarded a 2013 Bright Red Apple Award for educational excellence by SchoolSearch, an educational research and consulting firm that publishes online rankings of school systems. All 868 school districts throughout Illinois are considered for the award. LT is one of just 78 Illinois school districts to receive the award.

Evaluations are based on five main categories: academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, operating expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers and average teacher salary.

Districts are judged on the following categories:

  • Teachers with Master’s Degrees or Above
  • Pupil/Teacher Ratio
  • Average Teacher Salary
  • Operating Expenditure Per Pupil
  • ACT Composite score

SchoolSearch works with major companies by providing their relocating families with school information so that those families can make informed choices for the schooling of their children.
