James Woodford Funk III, 52, of Lyons and formerly of Brookfield, Riverside and Lyons, died suddenly on March 19, 2013.

Mr. Funk was an active member of Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union Local 130 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included dirt-biking, motorcycling and vacationing with friends.

He especially cherished time spent with his nephews, watching hockey games and sharing lessons about life.

He was the son of the late James Woodford Funk II and the late Joy (nee Blafka); the brother of Daniel Funk; the uncle of Robert, Cody and Randy; the brother-in-law of Shirley Barc; the nephew of Lawrence (Eileen) Funk, Vera Atwell and Robert (Bonnie Goldbeck) Blafka; and a cousin to many.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 1 from 10 a.m. until the time of a noon service at Kopicki’s Tower Home for Funerals, 4007 Joliet Ave., Lyons.
