Frederick W. Wilk, 86, of North Riverside, died April 28, 2013.
Mr. Wilk was born May 11, 1926 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he worked as a carpenter. He belonged to MITTS, the carpenters’ union, the REAC, Eagles and North Riverside Golden Agers. Mr. Wilk also enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and playing cards.
He was the husband of the late Eugenia S. Wilk, the longtime friend and companion on Wanda Soehlke and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is on Thursday, May 2 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 3 at St. Odilo Church, 2300 S. East Ave. in Berwyn, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
