For the month of June, the North Riverside Mall Theatre will display a variety of artistic styles by local artist Michael Patete. Come view his work in their lobby, located at 7501 West Cermak Road as a part of their monthly art showcase, starting June 1 and running through the end of the month. The display will feature Patete’s unique impressionist landscapes of the Chicago area and other paintings that have never been displayed before. Be sure not miss out on this unique Oak Park artist!

Michael’s passion for painting was strongly influenced by his father. He started painting at an early age then moved on to explore other forms of art, mainly spending his time with artists in the Chicago music scene. He then returned to painting again in 2010 and exploring various styles including cubism and Piet Mondrian’s non-representational Neoplasticism. Patete is a commercial interior architectural project principal with the DePalma Group Architects and finds inspiration in the works of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and Piet Mondrian.

This local artist says he is not bound to one form of expression through his paintings. “I work in a number of art styles from Realism to Impressionism landscapes,” said Michael.

Michael primarily displays his work on his Facebook artist page, as well as his website To contact Michael with questions, please email him at or call (312) 860-2121.
