Marvin C. Woeltje, 88, of Little Rock, Ark., and formerly of Brookfield, died May 7, 2013 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was born June 1, 1924 in Chicago to Ernst C. and Agnes Woeltje. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Offrim Woeltje.
After graduating from Harrison High School in 1942, Mr. Woeltje served in the U.S Navy in the Pacific aboard the USS Holton, a destroyer escort, during World War II. Following his military service, Mr. Woeltje was employed by the railcar leasing company GATX until is his retirement in 1987.
In retirement, Mr. Woeltje traveled and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He moved to Little Rock in 2004 to be closer to his daughter and her family.
Mr. Woeltje is survived by his daughter, Judy Anderson; his grandchildren, Matt Amanda) Anderson and Amy Anderson; his great-grandson, Braydon Fletcher; and many close friends.
Services have been held. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
