The Cook County Assessor’s Office is holding outreach programs in neighboring townships for property owners intending to file appeals based on flooding. Our neighboring townships of Lyons, Stickney and Proviso are still able to file appeals with the Cook County Assessor’s Office. However Riverside Township has already been through the appeal process with the Cook County Assessor’s Office and must wait to file appeals with the Cook County Board of Reviewmost likely beginning sometime around the middle of August.

Property owners intending to file appeals based on flooding may want to consider attending one of these outreach programs to help them plan for the type of information needed for their appeals with the Board of Review. While they will be making their appeal with a different government body the information required will be the same.
