The Cicero-Berwyn Elks Lodge #1510 announced recently that the Rolewicz family of Brookfield has been selected as the first Family of the Year Award winners in the North District Area of the Illinois Elks Association. The award honors families for their dedication and exemplification of the cardinal principles of the Benevolent and Loyal Order of Elks — charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity.

Robert Rolewicz has been a member of the Elks for 37 years and started the Food Baskets for Needy Families program in 1979. His wife, Vicki Rolewicz, is a registered nurse at Hines V.A. Hospital, and his daughter son, Heather and Jeremy Rolewicz, have volunteered for numerous Elks charitable programs since childhood.

Heather Rolewicz is currently Lodge #1510 president, the youngest in the lodge’s 88-yeaer history. Her father, Robert, served as president of the lodge for four terms and was named Elk of the Year five times. He also served as chairman of the lodge’s board of directors.
