Brookfield police are looking for an arsonist who threw an incendiary device at a home in the 9500 block of Lincoln Ave. At about 1:00 a.m. this morning, Aug. 20, someone threw a crude glass bottle filled with an unknown accelerant at the front picture window of a home in the 9500 block of Lincoln Ave. in Brookfield. A resident in the household was awakened by the banging sound and discovered that his front window had been shattered and was on fire according to the Brookfield police.

The resident used a garden hose to put out the fire and the fire was extinguished before the police arrived. The window of the home was double paned and the fire did not break the second pane of glass and did not extend to the interior of the home. No one was injured, but there was some scorching damage around the window.

Police are working leads and have some possible suspects in mind, but no arrest has yet been made. At this point police believe that this was not a random act of violence.
