The Riverside-Brookfield High School boys golf team finished sixth at the Metro Suburban Conference tournament on Wednesday (Oct. 2). Senior Adam Adamec carded an 83 to earn eighth place among the top individual performances, and Glenbard South’s Russell Matos shot a 73 to claim medalist honors.

The team standings were: Glenbard South 314, Illiana Christian 339, Ridgewood 346, Fenton 352, Timothy Christian 374, Riverside-Brookfield 386 and Elmwood Park 441.

Prior to the conference tournament, the Bulldogs lost a pair of dual matches to Glenbard South 159-187 and Illiana Christian 159-197. Adamec carded a 41 in both meetings as the Bulldogs finished the regular season 6-5 overall with a 2-4 record in the Metro Suburban Conference.

Riverside-Brookfield will compete in the Brother Rice Regional on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Silver Lakes golf course in Orland Park. Morton, Reavis, Brother Rice, Marist, Proviso East, Oak Lawn, Richards, Stagg and Argo are the other teams in the Class 3A regional.
