he village of Brookfield has been sending out letters to its residents, trying to sell them an insurance policy from “Insurance Line Warranties” to cover the maintenance and repair of out outside water service that is connected to our homes.

Let me point out my neighbor had a leak in his outside gas line and it was replaced by the gas company at no charge to him. When the electric line or phone line is down, or a transformer fails, we are not charged to get the repairs fixed.

We pay the village to supply water to us, so why should we pay for repairs? The village says that the parkways are village property, so why should we have to pay for repairs on their property? I am also wondering if the village is getting a finder’s fee for each program that is sold.
