Jacqueline Marie “Jackie” Kourim (nee Dusatko), 82, of Riverside, died Nov. 8, 2013.
Ms. Kourim was actively involved in the Sokol organization. She was the national secretary and director of the uniform division for The American Sokol Organization. She was also the editor of the American Sokol publication and member of Sokol Spirit in Brookfield.
She was also a member of the CSA Fraternal Life Lodge Yankee-Jungmann No. 77 and a member of the ACCW Alumnae Association. In addition, Ms. Kourim was a past president, secretary and treasurer of the St. Mary Parish Council of Catholic Women and a longtime cantor and choir member at St. Mary Church in Riverside.
Ms. Kourim was the wife of the late George T. Kourim; the mother of Thomas (Therese), Cyndi (late Edwin) Schuette, Christopher (Lisa) and Peter (Jane) Kourim; the grandmother of David, Seth, Sarah, Lauren and Leo; the step-grandmother of Lynn and Marilyn; the step-great-grandmother of Sarah, Lea and Douglas J.; step-great-great-grandmother of Lilah and Lucy; and the sister of Rita (late Don) Davis and the late Roland Dusatko.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 12 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
