Lions earn fourth place in boys Class 3A final

Seniors Henry Hostettler and Dan Lupano recorded times of 15:08 and 15:16, respectively, to lead LTHS to fourth in the state at Saturday’s Class 3A final held at Detweiller Park in Peoria. James Ryan (15:17/50th place), Ed McCarter (15:18/53rd), Kevin Kilrea (15:25/71st), Vince Arata (15:39/107th), and Dom Zona (16:04/168th) also ran for the Lions in Peoria.

West Suburban Conference Silver Division rival Hinsdale Central won the 3A title with a score of 99, followed by another Lions’ conference foe, 3A state runner-up Downers Grove North (144).

Rudofski, Hamor show well for LTHS girls at state

Senior Lexy Rudofski closed out her cross-country career with LTHS by finishing 23rd at the 3A state final with a time of 17:29. Junior Katie Hamor clocked a time of 18:02, good for 48th overall.

FENWICK

Flight makes Class 3A state meet debut for Fenwick

Riverside’s Sal Flight placed 139th with a time of 15 minutes, 16.9 seconds in Saturday’s Class 3A state final at Detweiller Park in Peoria. The Fenwick junior earned his first state meet appearance by finishing ninth (15:10) at the Lake Park Sectional.

Friars’ Ryan falls back in the pack

Coming off a fifth-place showing in the 2012 3A state final, Fenwick junior Olivia Ryan ran a time of 17:29 to capture 22nd place in the state over the weekend. Briana Daley capped off her career with the Friars by posting a time of 18:18 to finish 73rd.
