Helen C. Stec (nee Wielgosz), 95, of North Riverside, died Dec. 10, 2013 at her home.
Ms. Stec was born on Oct. 16, 1918 in Chicago. She later married Louis G. Stec, who preceded his wife in death. The couple had two children and Ms. Stec was an active parishioner at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside as a member of their Ministry of Care and Wake Committee. She also was a volunteer for the West Town Visiting Nurses Association.
She was the mother of Dolores (Ronald Sr.) Longhi and the late Marianne Stec; the grandmother of Ronald (Donna) Longhi Jr., Frank (Cindy) Longhi, Timothy Longhi, Louie (Sharon) Longhi and Eileen Liddle; the great-grandmother of Ronald Longhi III, Angela Longhi, Dawn Magyarics, Dana Magyarics, Jonathan Longhi, Jeremy Longhi, Joey Longhi, Dana Longhi, Laura Longhi, Vinnie Longhi, Timmy Pivonka, Nicholas Pivonka, Matthew Pivonka, Jessica Pivonka and Jennifer Liddle; the and great-great grandmother of Jonathon, Ariah, Lorenzo, Elena, Payton, Josey, Braxton, Sadie and Sean; the sister of the late Edward (late Martha) Wielgosz; and the aunt to many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 14 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
