William P. Heald, 86, a longtime resident of Westchester, died Dec. 6, 2013 at Elmhurst Memorial Health Care.
Mr. Heald was raised in Door County, Wis., and attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. For many years he was a history teacher at both Proviso East and Proviso West High Schools.
He also served as the golf pro at the Riverside Golf Club in North Riverside for 40 years and was in the PGA and Illinois Golf Halls of Fame.
Mr. Heald was married to his wife, Margo, for 63 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Heald is survived by his children, Michele (Joe) Adams and Erin (Craig) Messmer; his grandchildren, Jason (Candice) Adams, Jared Adams, Kelly (Herbie) Roberts, Patrick Messmer and Daniel Messmer; his great-grandchildren, Audrey, Caleb and Caiden; and his siblings, Richard (Michelle) Heald and Patricia Moegenberg.
Services have been held. Interment was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hillside.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Evans Scholarship Fund, Wounded Warriors or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
