Four teachers at Riverside-Brookfield High School in late 2013 earned National Board certification, which is considered the most rigorous, coveted and respected professional certification available in education.
Science teachers Josh Bozeday, Dave Monti and Michele Koehler and English teacher Dan Mancoff are the latest RBHS teachers to achieve National Board certification, joining four teachers who previously attained the achievement: English teacher Dan O’Rourke and world language teachers Laurence Forberg, Jessica Mauritzen and Jill McGrath.
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards was established in 1987 to provide definitive standards of accomplished teaching and the process by which the profession would certify whether or not a teacher met those standards.
