NORTH RIVERSIDE, IL (January 22, 2014)- North Riverside Park mall raised and donated $1,311 for PAWS Chicago with its new giftwrap services. The successful program, originally launched during the holiday season, will be ongoing and continue to help organizations in need.

The mall marketing team decided to start wrapping gifts after Carson Pirie Scott discontinued the service and the mall discovered continued demand for it.After introducing giftwrap services on December 19, 2013, North Riverside Park Mall’s Marketing Director noted how effective the program would be in giving back to the community.

We raised more than $1,000 in five days. We wanted to ensure the money went to a strong organization so we surveyed our employees, the majority vote was for PAWS Chicago”, said Lidia Darkova, North Riverside’s Marketing Director. “We hope that customers will want to support local charities by getting their gifts wrapped”, Darkova said. She also notes that the shopping center created a new sign package to help generate shopper awareness.

Giftwrap services are available ongoing at the Customer Service Center and the requested donation starts at $3.  All proceeds go to PAWS Chicago for now but the mall will reevaluate at-need local organizations throughout the year. They anticipate changing the charitable recipient quarterly and are open to community recommendations.

North Riverside Park Mall was purchased in 2004 by The Feil Organization, a national real estate developer and manager based in New York City.
