Chris Korabik, co-captain of the Saint Ignatius High School boys cross country and track teams as a senior, has signed a letter of intent to attend DePaul University next year. Korabik was a ninth-place medal winner at the IHSA Class 3A state championship track meet last spring as part of the Ignatius 4×800 meter relay team. He was Chicago Catholic League champion in the 3200-meter run in 2013. In cross country he was the Lawless Award winner as the top senior at the CCL championship, and he finished 27th at the state 3A cross country championships last fall. His state meet time of 15 minutes and 3 seconds for three miles on the historic Detweiler Park state course makes him the fourth fastest Ignatius runner in state meet history.
