John C. Bilek Jr., 80, of Brookfield, died March 25, 2014 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

Mr. Bilek served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was past commander of the American Legion Edward Feely Post 190. A resident of Brookfield since 1984, Mr. Bilek worked as an employee of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (later the Burlington Northern) for 38 years as a damaged freight claims adjustor. After retiring in 1991, he was a member of the Retired Burlington Employees Club.

He was the brother of Annabelle Bilek, Rosealie (the late Richard) Mansell and Frank (the late Caroline) Bilek; the son of the late Anna (nee Pesek) and John C. Bilek Sr.; and the uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. A memorial service will be held Friday, Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at Holy Covenant MCC Church, 9145 Grant Ave. in Brookfield.
