A Cooper’s Hawk attempted to get into the third floor window of a Riverside home this week.

The bird woke me up at 6:00 AM two days in a row,” wrote Riverside resident Mary Cray in an email Tuesday. “I think it saw my small Chinese statue and thought it was some kind of animal prey.”

Cray said that the hawk has not been back since she moved the statue, but a hawk’s nest in the tree across the street from her home remains.
