An unknown man walked away from the West Town Savings Bank, 7820 26th St. in North Riverside, with more than $4,000 on Aug. 1 after handing a note to a bank teller indicating he had a loaded gun and wanted “all your money fast.”

The bank teller reportedly described the offender as a Hispanic male with light skin, about 5-foot-9, 180 pounds and wearing a red and white baseball cap and a Chicago Cubs jersey with the number 10 and the word “Santo” on the back.

According to the police report, the man walked into the bank at about 4:20 p.m. He walked up to the teller, asked about making a deposit and then handed the teller the note, which read, “I have a loaded weapon. Give me all your money fast.”

The offender never displayed a weapon during the robbery, said police.

The teller placed the money on the counter and the offender took it, placed it under his shirt and left the bank. A witness told police he saw someone exit the bank and run northbound on Park Avenue.

North Riverside police have turned the case over to the FBI, which released surveillance camera images of the suspect on their www.bandittrackerchicago.com website.
