COURTESY OF TRINITY COLLEGE

River Grove, Ill. – Triton College will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 27 to officially mark the opening of its newly renovated swimming pool.

The community is invited to the ceremony that will include a brief presentation, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert Collins Center on the east side of Triton’s campus, in Room R-220. Refreshments will be served.

Triton’s new pool features a new liner, mechanical systems, piping, a state-of-the-art audio system, sound attenuation panels and an eye-catching design sporting the Triton College logo. Also, a new, more sustainable filtration system was installed to filter safe and clean water into the pool, while still saving on water and energy.

The swimming pool that is compliant with safety and ADA regulations was renovated to better serve the needs of Triton’s students and community.

After several months of renovations, the swimming pool reopened in May, just in time for summer aquatic courses for a variety of ages offered through Triton’s School of Continuing Education.

The pool renovation is one of many renovation projects to occur at the college. The college has also repainted the water tower with an updated logo and repaved its main entryway and much of its parking lots. The college will also welcome its new Health and Sciences Building in 2015. These renovations appropriately come on the heels of Triton celebrating its 50th anniversary, beginning Aug. 28.
