A Brookfield man has been arrested and charged in two separate criminal sex offenses against two teens.

Samuel C. Morales, 21, previously of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 20 for the alleged sexual assault of a LaGrange Park teen nearly two years ago and the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old Brookfield teen.

Upon his arrest he refused to speak to investigators about the incidents.

Morales was one of three men living in a Brookfield apartment building around the time of the two alleged sex crimes. He was living in the basement of the building at the time of the alleged abuse.

Another resident, who lived with the family of the 14-year-old in Berwyn and again in Brookfield, reported to police in July that he suspected Morales, also known as Christopher Morales or “Chris,” of sexually abusing the teen.

Officers report the informant said he was advised by a former resident that the teen told him that she and Morales had sex.

According to police reports, the informant confronted the teen about the allegations and she said they were true.

Officers report the informant also spoke with the teen’s brother who said he walked into Morales’ room and saw his sister on top of Morales and the two were kissing.

The informant told police that when he confronted Morales, he denied having sex with the teen and was then told to leave the home.

During a Victim Sensitive Interview (VSI) at Proviso Children’s Advocacy Center, the teen reportedly said some of her friends, also minors, had sex with Morales.

One of the teens was 13 at the time of her alleged rape. She is now 15-years-old.

During her interview she said after the incident with Morales that she told two friends, one of them being the Brookfield teen. She identified a specific home as the place where she was allegedly assaulted and the basement door as the exit she used when leaving the scene.

The teen reportedly told officers that she was too scared to go to the police at the time of the incident.

Morales is in custody with no bond. His next court appearance is Sept. 10.
