Dolores B. Preslicka (nee Bauer), 83, of Brookfield, died Aug. 31, 2014.
Born Feb. 5, 1931, she married Albert J. Preslicka, who survives his wife. They were married for 64 years.
Ms. Preslicka was a Brookfield resident for more than 50 years and was a parishioner of St. Barbara Church. She was an active member of the Chicago Bow Hunters and the Brookfield Zoo. She also worked as a secretary for the Western Electric Company.
Family members said they will remember her kind humor, wisdom, optimism and strength and called her an inspiration for those who knew her.
She was the wife of Albert J. Preslicka; the mother of Alan (Tracy) Preslicka and Karen (John) Betancourt; the grandmother of Cheryl (Jay) Jerik, Ken Jackson, Anthony Preslicka, Addison Preslicka and Haley Dean; the great-grandmother of Hannah Jerik, Carson Jerik and Parker Jerik; the sister of John (Linda) Bauer; the sister-in-law of the late James (Marilyn) Preslicka; the aunt of many nieces and nephews; and the godmother of many.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 20 from noon until the time of a 3 p.m. service at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment is private.
