Frances Virginia Maly (nee DeRosa), 92, of North Riverside, died Sept. 9, 2014.
Ms. Maly was born Oct. 4, 1921 in Chicago. She married Richard R. Maly, who preceded his wife in death on May 26, 2014. Ms. Maly worked as a secretary.
She was involved in many local organizations, including the LaGrange Art League, the North Riverside Bowling League and the Mater Christi Church choir. She was also a member and past president of the North Riverside In-Between Club, a Cub Scout den mother.
Ms. Maly also had a creative streak. She was known for her beautiful paintings and as a pastry chef and wonderful cook.
She was the wife of the late Richard R. Maly; the mother of Jeffrey Maly, Jimmy Maly, Glenn (Jackie) Maly and Laura (Robert) Englehart; the grandmother of Danny Maly, Joey Maly, Jonathan Maly, Bobby Englehart, Brian Englehart, Alex Englehart and Bridget Englehart; the sister of Lucille (late Tony) Russo, the late Theresa Grandolfo, late Louise Hansen, late Mary Molito, late Clem Curtin, late Dominic DeRosa and the late Joe DeRosa; and the aunt to many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 11 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
