LA GRANGE PARK, IL, October 17, 2014 – For the second time in three years, St. Louise de Marillac School has won the Goodwill donation contest and a visit from Blackhawks great Patrick Sharp. Schools around the Chicagoland area donated items for the contest held in April. St. Louise donated 70,000 items to top the list.

“I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of our community,” said AnnMarie Mahay, Principal. “We have banned together to make thousands of donations to support a great cause and to top it off, the students get to meet Patrick Sharp. Everyone is so excited; it’s great to see!”

Sharp visited St. Louise Thursday afternoon. Students and faculty gathered for an assembly where 30 lucky students were able to ask him questions. The first and second grade class wrote and illustrated a fairytale about a boy named Patrick who played hockey which they read aloud to him. Each class got a personal visit from Sharp and took a souvenir group photo with him.

St. Louise de Marillac School offers a complete Illinois State and Archdiocesan certified curriculum for grades Preschool 3 and 4 through Grade 8. St. Louise offers Full Day Kindergarten and Full and Half Day Preschool programs.
