Mr. Witt served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the New Outlook Pioneers. He worked as a pipefitter for a manufacturing company prior to retirement.

He was the husband of Antoinette M. Witt (nee Gorecki); the father of Carl A. (Mary) Witt, Carol (Michael) Hekr, Christopher (Hope) Witt and Claire (George) Cervenka; the grandfather of Jenny (George) Paul, Cheryl (Murray) Moore, Melissa (Carlos) Ortiz, Adam (Tracy) Witt, Jessica (Scott) Kauth, Christine (Darren) Biggs, Andrew (fiancé K.C. Skelton) Witt, Gail Cervenka, Benjamin (Steff) Witt, Amy Cervenka, Carly (Abel) Handy, Casey Witt and Jacklyn Cervenka; the great-grandfather of Dylan Paul, Alexis, Mia, Isabelle, Mateo Zachary, Gabriel, Sophia Ortiz, Colin, Aiden, Jacob Kauth, Katelyn Moon, Nathan, Robert, Connor Biggs, Abel, Allie Handy, Meagan, Mariah, Moore, Trent, Kyle, Cole Witt, Ava Witt; and the brother of Marlene (the late Ray) Fricke, the late Carol (Francis) Brauer and Jane (the late David) Lorenz.

Visitation is on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 20 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
