Christine Margaret Earl, 65, of Riverside, died Nov. 14, 2014, surrounded by family at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood after a courageous, lifelong battle with illness.

She was born to Virginia C. and the late William F. Earl on Dec. 31, 1948 in Joliet. Ms. Earl graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1967.

Ms. Earl loved working with people as a claims processor for United Insurance Company in Chicago for 30 years. She also worked at Sears in North Riverside for 10 years, until her most recent illness.

She was a member of St. Mary Church in Riverside for more than 54 years. She enjoyed sharing her Irish heritage, working in her garden and decorating the house for all holidays. She adored her beloved dog, Binky, and captivated the family with stories of his many misadventures.

Ms. Earl is survived by her four siblings, Susan (Ted) Earl-Sevigny, Sandra (Lynn) Lowder, William F. (Anita) Earl Jr. and Robert (Mary) Earl and her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Lowder, Lisa Lowder, Daniel Lowder, Matthew Gullo, Robert Gullo, Robert Earl, Katherine Earl, Elizabeth Earl and Abigail Earl. She was the great-aunt of Justice Lowder-Cole and Emmett Lowder. She also leaves family, friends and many cousins who will miss her kindness, humor and strength of spirit. She was an “overcomer.”

A private family celebration of Ms. Earl’s life will be held in the spring.
