When I read the “Plan pitched to renovate Brookfield Bowl” story in the Dec. 10 issue, I was happy for the possibility of something to do with my family that didn’t force us to go to another suburb. There might be something for the residents to actually do in Brookfield.
As I read the village’s response, all I could think was, “Of course, it’s just going to be turned into another pharmacy or auto parts store.”
I agree that the process should be fair and no developer should be given an unfair advantage over another, I just don’t have faith in the village board to do something progressive. Two national chain pharmacies within the village limits and the non-descript Ogden Avenue undermine any hope I might have had.
