La Grange – Starting Jan. 13Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital will begin a new round of smoking cessation classes, designed to help anyone trying to kick the habit.

The classes, which cost $99, were developed by the American Lung Association. Each session encourages participant interaction and group support in overcoming the smoking habit. Nicotine withdrawal, medications to assist in quitting, coping mechanisms, diet and exercise are also addressed throughout the program.

The first seven-week series of eight classes begins at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road in La Grange.

During each round of classes, eight meetings are held over seven weeks. Enrollment is limited to 10 people per session. If there’s available space, people can sign up all the way up to the start of the first class.

After that, those interested must wait until the next series of sessions begins.
